Aliwal North, Barkly East, Burgersdorp, Cathcart, Cradock, Dordrecht, Elliot, Flagstaff, Hofmeyr, Indwe, Jamestown, Lady Grey, Maclear, Molteno, Queenstown, Rhodes, Sterkspruit, Sterkstroom, Stutterheim, Tarkastad & Venterstad.

The route via Aliwal North meanders through open rural landscapes dotted with cattle and sheep and small farming communities whose friendly deposition gives this route its name. The region is characterised by high mountains, sweeping grasslands, gurgling trout streams and quaint Victorian villages.
